Small cottages replacing the traditional nursing home, with its typically isolating, semi-private rooms along lengthy hallways ending at a nurses’ station. And in these cottages, eight to 12 Older Adults are able to receive the person centered care they need.

Responsibilities

CNA/Ezer Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides care to the resident to maintain activity of daily living skills; mobility, prevent contractures, maintain bowel/bladder continence, adequate nutrition, positioning, skin care and social skills.
  • Assists elder with personal care functions, including: dental and mouth care, bathing, dressing and grooming, hair care, nail care, shaving, bowel and bladder care, other personal and hygiene care.
  • Assists moving, positioning and transporting elders into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, and wheelchairs.
  • Follows elder care plans, walking/transfer instructions and restorative program as indicated.
  • Reports changes in the elder’s condition to the clinical support team per change in condition protocols.
  • Observes and reports the presence of pressure areas to prevent decubitus and provides skin care according to policy.
  • Reports accidents and incidents when they occur.
  • Measures and records vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, respirations, weight, height, anatomical dimension/circumference, etc.
  • Attends and participates in orientation programs, on-going training and educational classes; accepts personal responsibility for continuing education to maintain status on Kentucky Nurse Aide Registry.
  • Cleans, dusts, and/or polishes furniture, fixtures, lamps, window ledges, room heating and cooling units and other items/areas as instructed.
  • Cleans, washes and/or polishes bathroom fixtures, basins, commodes and lavatories.
  • Prepares and serves meals, between meal, bedtime and other nutritional snacks per the posted menu and the stated preferences of the elder and cleans up after meals and snacks.

***Other duties may be assigned or be modified by employer as need arises.

 

CNA/Ezer Work Hrs./ Shifts:

  • Full Time / (3p-11pm / 11p-7a)

Qualifications

What will you need as a CNA/Ezer?

  • Required Education: High school diploma or (GED)
  • Preferred Experience: 1+ years’ experience in a long-term health care setting
  • Required License and/or Certification: KY State Registered Nurse Aide (SRNA Certified CPR and First Aid

Upon employment, the Ezer will complete a Serve Safe course, or other state approved food handling course, GHP training (40 hours), and culinary training
