Support Services Coordinator Job Responsibilities:


The Support Services Coordinator is primarily responsible for managing the dining services and providing nutritional services for elders, assessing elders' nutritional needs, developing and implementing nutrition programs and evaluating and reporting the results; managing the housekeeping and laundry operations, responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units to ensure clean, sanitary, comfortable, orderly and satisfying surroundings for the elders, family members and employees while maintaining compliance with all applicable laws, regulatory and organizational standards.


  • Participates in the care planning process.
  • Oversees the work functions of the housekeeping coordinator to ensure cleanliness of the home, adequate supplies are on hand and proper laundering of household items and personal items of the elders.
  • Ensures the planning and development of meals that meet nutrition standards by working with physicians to establish nutritional guidelines.
  • Oversees the work functions of the food coordinator to ensure weekly menu-planning, adequate food orders, freshness of food and kitchen compliance issues including cleanliness.
  • Plans nutritionally balanced & therapeutic meals that reflect the likes and dislikes of elders.
  • Works with dietitian to develop menus which meet the nutritional needs of elders includes maintaining production sheets, cyclical menus, and suitable recipes, all of which must be evaluated on an ongoing basis.
  • Ensures the preparation of meals for regular and therapeutic diets, following physicians’ orders for individual elders.
  • Processes new diet orders and diet changes when received from the nursing team, and keeps diet cards updated.
  • Tracks and maintains compliance with the dining, housekeeping and laundry services budget related to purchasing and ordering.
  • Orders and maintains all supply levels for the dining, housekeeping and laundry services.
  • Completes year-end inventory supply for dining, housekeeping and laundry services.
  • Plans, coordinates and provides overall direction of the elder room changes while working with family members in packing of the elder’s belongings after discharge.
  • Develops and implements a schedule to ensure a routinely deep clean of all areas of the home including each room where the elder resides.






What will you need as a Support Services Coordinator?


  • Required Education:                                       High school diploma or general education degree (GED)                 
  • Preferred Education:                                       Associates’ degree
  • Required Experience:                                      5 years’ experience in housekeeping duties; 3 years’ supervisory role
  • Preferred Experience:                                     5 years’ experience in food service, hospital, or long-term care setting
  • Required License and/or Certification:          ServSafe® Certificate completed within 6 months of employment;
  • Preferred License and/or Certification:          Certified Dietary Manager 

Business travel is a requirement of position; proof of valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

If personal vehicle is used to transport self or others; proof of insurance of $100,000 single limit of liability
