The Medical Social Worker is responsible for evaluating patients by performing on-site clinical and financial assessments to determine their eligibility for medical and non-medical resources related to their condition, discuss eligibility for assistance programs, and provide a description of community resources available as they apply to their situation by working with the patient and their family, while maintaining compliance with all applicable laws, regulatory and organizational standards.
Required Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work
Required Experience 1 year Social work experience in health care setting
Preferred Experience: 3 years experience in health care setting
Required License and/or Certification: Licensed as Social Worker, Commonwealth of Kentucky
Business travel is a requirement of position; proof of valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
If personal vehicle is used to transport self or others; proof of insurance of $100,000 single limit of liability
