    Responsibilities

    works in an appropriate, limited capacity within the scope of their training as directed; responsible for housekeeping tasks and offers assistance with activities of daily living, non-clinical assistance, companionship and support to residents.

    • Provides generalized attention to the needs of residents and are responsible for ensuring a safe, clean environment.
    • Performs housekeeping tasks and assists with laundry.
    • Assists residents to and from daily activities and appointments.
    • Accompanies residents as needed on appointments.
    • Assists in providing indirect and non-clinical care.
    • Contributes to quality resident care by serving as a significant member of the health care team.
    • Provides companionship (talking and listening, reading aloud, etc.) and promotes the resident’s mental alertness through involvement in activities of interest.

     

    Qualifications

     

    -Relevant experience or genuine desire to work with the elderly

    -Knowledge of general sanitary and safety practices

    -Ability to work as the need arises, various shifts including weekends and holidays

     

    Required Education:                       

    High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)

     

    Preferred Experience:

    1 or more years’ experience in a long-term health care setting
